That means a wood stove can be burned slowly, transforming most energy stored in a log to the room as heat, instead of to the outside as air pollution. This combustor is not compatible with the Defiant / Encore Two-in-One Flexburn models. Condar recommends replacing your stove's catalytic probe thermometer each time the combustor is replaced. Choose 4-inch catalytic probe thermometer (ASIN B077JCXX2L). This combustor's stainless steel wrapping has the correct flange, like on your original catalytic combustor, to hold the ceramic securely in your Vermont Castings stove. Don't install gasket around the combustor, even if your previous catalyst was wrapped in gasket. Simply install this combustor in stove's catalyst receptacle.
