Why is Taki one of the most popular card games of all time? Is it because it’s easy to learn? Because it adds unique twists to a well-known game mechanic? Or because it’s designed to bring players together as they play? We think it’s for all of these reasons. The object is to be the first to get rid of all your cards—on each turn you can play a card that matches the color, the number, or the figure on the card on top of the stack. Special cards heighten the action, and the interaction between players: one card lets you play all cards of a single color, another makes the next player draw 2 cards, and a third makes the next player skip a turn. There are 3 Action Cards and 6 Super Action Cards in all, adding twists that help you and thwart your opponents. Taki has been a favorite since 1985 because it’s designed for fast, fun play that brings families and friends together.
