You are viewing a one of a kind Fire Burned (Shou Sugi Ban Process) mantel. Shou Sugi Ban is an ancient Japanese practice. The wood is burned with fire and has a poly overcoat to seal. No two are ever the same. The color is created by the fire burning the wood until a black color is achieved. All products are handmade to order using pine wood for a rustic display to your home. The rustic pine has various knots and discrepancy in each piece which brings out the beauty in every piece of wood. It has the look of a solid beam, but it is lightweight and open in the back, the open back portion is not burned. Because of being burnt the seams on occasion will separate and show ever so slightly. In addition, each piece has mitered returns on the side boards. I utilize a French cleat design/mounting bracket which is used for hanging with instructions written on the back for an easy installation. Wood screws are provided. You choose the length. Height: 5 1/2″ tall. Depth: 8″. Free shipping is provided. These are custom made to order mantels. You order the product and we build this item to suit your request.
