The 20 Pesos Mexican Gold Coins were produced by the Mexican National Mint, La Casa de Moneda de Mexico. Produced from 1917 to 1959. The magnificent coins, featuring the Aztec Sun Stone (Cuauhxicalli), are worldwide recognized for having the most intricate design. They were first struck for circulation in 1917 and ran until 1921. Issued by Banco de México from 1917-1959. The denomination was issued under the authority of the Mexican Monetary Reform Act of 1905. It is struck by a recognized world mint in Mexico City guarantying its purity and content by a sovereign government – a big plus in today’s bullion world. The obverse of this coin displays the coat of arms of Mexico. This important symbol depicts a golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak.
